# Free plan limits and what happens at 100 subscribers

> Learn what the Rewards Club Free plan includes, how the 100-subscriber limit and 7-day grace period work, and what the Free plan banners mean.

The Rewards Club Free plan lets you run a full loyalty club for up to 100 subscribers, with no credit card. When your club grows past that, Rewards Club gives you time to upgrade before new signups pause, and your existing customers keep getting their rewards. This page explains the limits and each message you may see.

## What the Free plan includes

* Up to 100 subscribers (verified customers who receive your emails).
* The Loyalty+ rewards and tools, without SMS.
* 1 newsletter per month (paid plans can send 5).
* No SMS: text signup, SMS reminders and Flash Sales need a paid plan.

Your usage is shown in **Account Settings > My Subscription** and in **Customers & Stats**, where the customer count shows how many of your 100 free subscribers you have used.

## What happens as you grow

**1. 80 subscribers**

A banner in your dashboard shows your usage, for example "Free plan: 80 of 100 free subscribers used."

**2. 90 subscribers**

You receive an email, and the banner turns orange: "At 100 you'll have 7 days to upgrade before new signups pause."

**3. 100 subscribers**

You receive an email and a 7-day grace period starts, with a daily reminder. The banner shows how many days you have left to upgrade.

**4. After the grace period**

New signups pause. Customers who try to join see a neutral message. **Your existing customers still get their rewards.** The banner shows how many customers tried to join recently, and you get a weekly reminder.

Signups reopen as soon as you upgrade, or if your club drops below 100 subscribers.

> [!TIP]
>
> Upgrade during the 7-day grace period to keep signups open without interruption. See [Subscription and billing](https://help.riiwards.com/account/subscription-and-billing.md).

## Clubs that already had more than 100 subscribers

If your club already has more than 100 subscribers when it moves to the Free plan (for example, when a paid plan ends), Rewards Club gives you a 7-day notice. You receive an email on the first day and a daily reminder after that.

After 7 days:

* Your first 100 subscribers (by join date) keep receiving rewards.
* The other subscribers are paused and do not receive rewards.
* New signups pause.

When you upgrade, paused subscribers start receiving rewards again and signups reopen.

## When a paid plan ends

If your paid plan ends, your club moves to the Free plan and stays active. SMS is canceled, because the Free plan does not include SMS. If you have more than 100 subscribers, the 7-day notice described above starts.

## Free plan banners

| Banner | What it means |
| - | - |
| "Free plan: N of 100 free subscribers used." | You are getting close to the limit. |
| "You've used N of 100 free subscribers. At 100 you'll have 7 days to upgrade before new signups pause." | You have 90 or more subscribers. |
| "You've reached 100 free subscribers. Upgrade within N days to keep new signups open." | Your grace period has started. |
| "New signups are paused: your club has reached the 100-subscriber Free plan limit. Your customers still get their rewards. Upgrade to reopen signups." | The grace period has ended. |
| "Starting (date), free accounts include up to 100 subscribers..." | Your club had more than 100 subscribers before moving to Free. Upgrade before the date to keep everyone. |
| "Free plan: rewards go to your first 100 subscribers, N are paused and new signups are paused. Upgrade to resume both." | The 7-day notice has ended. |

Click **Upgrade Now** on any banner to choose a plan.
