# Set up and manage your automated rewards

> See every automated reward in Rewards Club on one page: signup, birthday, check-in, anniversary and monthly rewards, their status, and where to edit each one.

Rewards Club sends reward emails to your customers automatically, for example when they join, before their birthday, or after a visit. The **Customize Rewards** page lists every reward type in one place, shows whether each one is turned on, and is where you open a reward to change its text, images and timing.

In your dashboard, click **Customize Rewards** in the left menu.

## Reward types

| Reward | What it does | When it is sent |
| - | - | - |
| [Signup Reward](https://help.riiwards.com/rewards/signup-reward.md) | Encourages people to join with an instant thank-you reward. | After a customer joins and verifies their email. |
| [Birthday Reward](https://help.riiwards.com/rewards/birthday-reward.md) | Celebrates each customer's birthday. | A set number of days before the birthday. |
| [Check-In Rewards (for In-Person Visits)](https://help.riiwards.com/rewards/check-in-rewards.md) | Rewards repeat visits, like a digital punch card. | After each recorded visit. |
| [Anniversary Reward](https://help.riiwards.com/rewards/anniversary-reward.md) | Celebrates a customer's anniversary. | A set number of days before the anniversary. |
| [Monthly Rewards](https://help.riiwards.com/rewards/monthly-rewards.md) | Keeps customers engaged all year with a special offer for each month. | From the Send Date you choose for that month. |

## Reward status

Each card shows a status under its **Edit** button:

* **Turned On** with a green check: the reward is active and emails go out automatically.
* **Turned Off** with a yellow exclamation mark: nothing is sent for this reward.

Monthly Rewards show a grid of the 12 months. Each month has its own status, so you can run an offer in October and leave other months off.

## Edit a reward

**1. Open the reward**

Click **Edit** on the reward card. For Monthly Rewards, click the month you want to change.

**2. Change the reward and email**

Update the reward text, promo code, timing and email content. See [Edit reward emails](https://help.riiwards.com/rewards/edit-reward-emails.md) for every field in the editor.

**3. Turn the reward on or off**

Use the toggle next to the reward name at the top of the editor. The status line under the name changes to **Turned On** or **Turned Off**.

**4. Save**

Click **Save**. The button becomes active once you have made a change. Click **Cancel** to discard your changes.

> Use **Preview** and **Send Test Email** in the editor to check how the email looks before customers receive it. Both include unsaved changes.

## Plans and availability

Some reward types depend on your plan and how your customers redeem rewards:

* **Monthly Rewards** are available on the Marketing+ plan or higher.
* **Check-In Rewards** are available on the Loyalty+ plan or higher, and only for businesses where customers redeem rewards in person. If your club is set to online redemption only, the Check-In card is hidden.

If you click a reward your plan does not include, an **Upgrade Required** message tells you which plan unlocks it. See [Plans and features](https://help.riiwards.com/getting-started/plans-and-features.md).
